Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Truck-to-Truck Technician in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves safely moving, organizing, and staging hazardous and non-hazardous waste, primarily using a forklift.

You will offload, palletize, and reload materials, while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with safety requirements. The position offers a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift with a $1.75/hour differential and a pay rate up to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely offload, palletize, stage, and reload waste materials using a forklift.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads between hubs, plants, and other outbound destinations.
• Support transportation efficiency while ensuring compliance with facility storage permits and operational requirements.
• Dispatch transportation from hub locations as needed.
• Assist with tracking manifest return timelines and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate information in the Hub Database, Outlook, and Hub Management systems.
• Inspect and handle containers according to company procedures and safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Safely climb on/off forklifts and operate equipment throughout the day.
• Move drums weighing up to 800 pounds with a drum dolly and weights up to 1500 pounds with a pallet jack.

Job description

Truck-to-Truck Technician Summary. The Truck-to-Truck Technician is responsible for safely moving, organizing, and staging containers of hazardous and non-hazardous waste received from Clean Harbors facilities and direct generators. This position primarily operates a forklift to offload, palletize, and reload materials while supporting transportation efficiency, accurate documentation, and compliance with applicable storage permits and safety requirements.

Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Shift Differential: $1.75 per hour

Pay: Up to $28.00 an hour - depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Safely offload, palletize, stage, and reload waste materials using a forklift.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads between hubs, plants, and other outbound destinations.
• Support transportation efficiency while ensuring compliance with facility storage permits and operational requirements.
• Dispatch transportation from hub locations as needed.
• Assist with tracking manifest return timelines and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate information in the Hub Database, Outlook, and Hub Management systems.

• Safely climb on and off forklifts and operate equipment throughout the workday.
• Move drums weighing up to 800 pounds with a drum dolly and flex bins weighing up to 1,500 pounds with a pallet jack.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Zero to three years of related experience.
• Forklift training and experience required.
• DOT and RCRA training required.
• Current 24-hour or 40-hour OSHA training and applicable annual refresher training required.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds from the ground to waist level.
• Ability to frequently bend, climb, reach, squat, stoop, and perform repetitive hand and foot movements.
• Ability to climb vertical ladders and safely enter and exit forklifts.
• Good hand-eye coordination, depth perception, peripheral vision, and color recognition.
• Ability to tolerate loud industrial work environments and hear machinery, vehicle alarms, and other safety warnings.
• Ability to travel less than 10%
