Job summary

Continental is seeking a Truck Tire Technician to prepare commercial vehicle tires for warehousing and to inspect and repair tires to meet quality standards. You will use hand tools and gauges and communicate anomalies to related departments as needed.

You will perform 100% inspections, remove non-conforming tires from conveyors, and help maintain a safe, clean production environment with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (we will not sponsor for this job).
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Run and operate finishing machines, x-ray machines, and other support machinery in the Commercial Final Finish department.
  • Perform 100% tire inspection and remove off-standard tires from conveyors for disposition and recording.
  • Ensure tire quality before warehousing and remove defective tires from the line.
  • Maintain effective communication with Commercial Curing, Assembly, Warehouse, and Final Finish supervision.
  • Follow all plant safety, environmental, and departmental policies.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly; follow standard practices to ensure quality and production.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisors or Department Manager.
  • Ensure ESH procedures and legal requirements are implemented.

Job Description

The Truck Tire Technician will:

Be responsible for preparing Commercial Vehicle Tires for Warehousing. The Truck Tire Technician is responsible for using hand tools, gauges, etc. to remove vents and/or flash from commercial vehicle tires, inspecting for defects and repairs to ensure quality. Also responsible for notifying all required departments of possible and/or known anomalies.

1 Run/operate all finishing machines, x-ray machines, and any support machinery in the Commercial Final Finish department.

2. Take responsibility for 100% Inspection of Truck Tires, determine the disposition of the tires according to established standards, and remove any off standard tires from the conveyors for inspection, and make the recording of information

3. Ensure the quality of the Commercial Tires being warehoused, detect and remove defective Commercial Truck Tires before the product leaves Commercial Final Finish

4. Maintain effective communication with Commercial Curing and Commercial Assembly, Warehouse, and Commercial Final Finish supervision.

5. Follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies.

6. Ensure all work areas are kept clean and orderly.

7. Follow standard practice for this specific job and perform all work necessary to obtain quality and quantity production.

8. Perform other duties as directed by the Commercial Final Finish Supervisor, Lead Supervisor or Department Manager.

9.Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

The starting annual salary for this role is $55,683 a year.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
  • New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includesevenings and weekends.
  • The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. Majority of work completed in a high heat environment.
  • The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.
