Job summary

Ohio Peterbilt, a division of Ohio Machinery Co., is seeking an experienced Technician at our Zanesville location. You will diagnose failures and recommend repair solutions, and perform repairs to dealership and factory standards on Peterbilt vehicles under supervision.

You will mentor less-experienced technicians, stay compliant with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations, and prioritize safety while maintaining a clean, organized shop and effective communication with customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational diesel/truck repair degree preferred.
• Four to six years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• CDL is recommended; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Preferred certifications include MX Engine, Cummins HD, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison, or Eaton.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
• Perform repairs precisely and efficiently to dealer and factory standards.
• Work under supervision of Service Supervisor and interact with staff and customers.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians and stay up to date with regulations.
• Prioritize safety and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Report any issues to management and communicate about vehicle condition.

Job Summary

As an experienced Technician at Ohio Peterbilt, you'll be at the forefront of diagnosing failures and recommending effective repair solutions. You'll perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, you'll work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles, receiving assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. You'll also interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers and have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced technicians. Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including those from the EPA, OSHA, and DOT, is crucial. Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities, report any safety issues immediately, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. If the appearance or condition of a vehicle changes, report it to department management immediately.
