Compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT rules is essential; prioritize safety and quality, and contribute to a skilled, collaborative team in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certificate or diesel/truck repair degree.
  • Four to six years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
  • CDL license recommended; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Preferred certifications include MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
  • Perform repairs precisely and in line with dealership and factory standards.
  • Work under the Service Supervisor; interact with staff, manufacturer reps and customers.
  • Mentor less-experienced technicians and uphold safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and report safety issues promptly.

Job Summary

As an experienced Technician at Ohio Peterbilt, you'll be at the forefront of diagnosing failures and recommending effective repair solutions. You'll perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, you’ll work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles, receiving assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. You’ll also interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers and have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced technicians. Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including those from the EPA, OSHA, and DOT, is crucial. Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities, report any safety issues immediately, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. If the appearance or condition of a vehicle changes, report it to department management immediately.

Job Qualifications

  • Work Environment: The noise level can vary from quiet in office settings to moderate or loud in other situations, with sudden loud noises possible.
