Job summary

Mills Auto Group seeks skilled automotive technicians to service medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The role emphasizes diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and large vans with a focus on first-time right fixes and clear communication with the service team.

Qualifications

• Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs medium/heavy duty vehicles, including engines, brakes, steering, and suspension.
• Meet or exceed shop productivity and hours produced.
• Use diagnostic tools and test drives to assess performance.
• Communicate status and recommended services to the Service Advisor to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on medium/heavy vehicles.
• Diagnose issues and perform repairs to meet quality standards.
• Document work performed and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
• Assist in training junior technicians and maintain a safe, clean work area.

Description

This position gets to work on a wide variety of medium and heavy vehicles, generally 1-ton and bigger! Qualified candidates must possess attention to detail, high quality workmanship, ability to troubleshoot and fix medium/heavy duty vehicles right the first time, and effective communication. Candidates must be passionate about working in the exciting Automotive industry!

Duties include:

• Performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairing medium/heavy duty vehicles, including though not limited to engine, brakes, steering, suspension, and more on medium/heavy duty vehicles.
• Meet or exceed shop productivity (hours produced) expectations.
• Use diagnostic tools, special equipment, and test drives to assess and monitor vehicle performance.
• Ensure effective and consistent communication with our Service Advisor regarding vehicle status and recommended services to ensure excellent Guest satisfaction and experience.

The workdays for this position are Monday through Friday, with a rotational Saturday. Our facilities are always closed on Sunday, and on designated Holidays throughout the year.

This position is paid a Flat Rate for each hour produced and an additional earned incentive on top of the Flat Rate pay. The starting Flat Rate range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00+ and will be evaluated based upon relevant skills, training, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The additional incentive includes a production Incentive.
