Job summary

Walmart is hiring an on-site Fleet Maintenance Technician in Lewiston, ME to diagnose and repair TRUs, trailers, and related equipment. The role covers electrical, HVAC, and braking systems, tire service, and fuel handling procedures as part of a safety-focused maintenance team.

You will document work orders, support warranty processes, and ensure DOT compliance while collaborating with teammates to keep fleet operations reliable and efficient.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in trailer refrigeration maintenance and repair (e.g. diagnostic and component replacement)
• EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on TRUs and related systems per OEM procedures.
• Maintain and repair trailers including electrical, lighting, landing gear, interiors, roofs, flooring, doors, and seals.
• Service and repair tractor-trailer braking systems (hydraulic, air, ABS/EBS).
• Perform tire services: install, remove, repair, balance, align using electronic equipment.
• Receive fuel deliveries, sample, monitor levels, document compliance.
• Process warranty repairs and claims with accurate documentation.
• Diagnose equipment issues, order parts, and maintain tractors, trailers, forklifts, and shop equipment.
• Complete work orders, logs, and documentation, ensuring DOT compliance.
• Collaborate with technicians to maintain equipment reliability and operational excellence.
