Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging seeks a capable Truck Mechanic for our Houston, TX shop. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining medium and light‑duty pickups, with a strong emphasis on electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer‑controlled systems.

You will read schematics, perform routine inspections, and coordinate service calls as needed. A high school diploma and tool ownership are required; vocational training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining medium and light‑duty pickups with gas and diesel engines.
• Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Computer literate with the ability to process information.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong work ethics with a commitment to quality.
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various makes and models of medium and light‑duty vehicles.
• History of safe work habits.
• Must supply own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining medium and light‑duty vehicles and yard equipment.
• Strong background in electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer‑controlled systems.
• Three to five years experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles.
• Work evenings and weekends for needed shop repairs.
• Provide on‑call service to vehicles out of the shop when needed.
• Read schematics and perform inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Keep detailed maintenance and repair records.
