Job summary

The Law Firm for Truck Safety in Phoenix, Arizona, seeks an Experienced Litigation Attorney to manage a full docket of trucking and catastrophic injury cases from intake through trial, with appellate responsibilities as cases develop.

You will lead case strategy, supervise depositions, work with experts, and negotiate settlements while upholding a strong trial-first approach. Arizona bar admission required; Nevada/Texas/California admission a plus.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Arizona bar license (or eligibility to obtain promptly)
• 5–10+ years of civil litigation experience, with significant plaintiff-side personal injury and/or wrongful death work
• Demonstrated trial experience
• Ability to manage cases independently from intake through resolution or trial
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience with complex discovery, depositions, motion practice, and case strategy development
• Willingness to travel as cases require

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a full caseload of complex trucking, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases from intake through trial
• Lead or second-chair trial counsel depending on the matter
• Take and defend depositions of corporate representatives, adverse parties, expert witnesses, and treating providers
• Work closely with accident reconstructionists, trucking-safety experts, life-care planners, economists, and physicians
• Apply federal and state trucking regulations, including FMCSA rules, to build liability theories
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, evidentiary motions, and motions in limine
• Lead settlement negotiations with insurers and defense counsel while maintaining a trial-first mindset
• Stay in close contact with clients and families you represent
• Identify and preserve appellate issues and draft persuasive appellate briefs and petitions
• Grow into NBTA Board Certification in Truck Accident Law and related credentials
