Job summary

Truck and Trailer Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Truck Hydraulics Technician to support daily operations in our shop. You will install, test, and diagnose hydraulic components, read prints, and collaborate with the Team Leader and Operations Manager to fulfill truck build requirements.

The role requires the ability to work independently with strong mechanical aptitude, read schematics, and adhere to safety policies. Shifts include 10-hour weekdays and a partial Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience in truck/hydraulic build process preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have a current driver's license to move vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and diagnose hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and filter assemblies.
  • Hydraulic systems include open center, closed center with load sense pumps and EPC valve sections.
  • Utilize prints and diagrams for hydraulic systems in truck build-up process.
  • Regular communication with Team Leader and Operations Manager to assess assigned job and identify parts and materials required for build up.
  • Develop continual process improvement with managers and co-workers.
  • Parts delivery and pickup.
  • Janitorial work beyond keeping work area uncluttered and swept.
  • Work a 10-hour shift Monday through Friday, and a 4 hour shift two Saturdays a month.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Job Title: Truck Hydraulics Technician


Reports to: Truck Hydraulics Team Leader / Director of Operations


Department: Operations


Job Summary: Responsible for custom fabrication of customer\'s trucks.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Duties/Responsibilities:


Support daily functions including, but not limited to:



  • Install, test, and diagnose hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and filter assemblies

  • Hydraulic systems include open center, closed center with load sense pumps and EPC valve sections

  • Utilize prints and diagrams for hydraulic systems in truck build-up process

  • Regular communication with Team Leader and Operations Manager to assess assigned job and identify parts and materials required for build up

  • Working cooperatively and proactively with customers

  • Develop continual process improvement with managers and co-workers

  • Parts delivery and pickup

  • Janitorial work beyond keeping work area uncluttered and swept

  • Work a 10-hour shift Monday through Friday, and a 4 hour shift two Saturdays a month

  • Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization



Required Skills/Abilities:



  • General comprehension of, and experience in, the truck build up process

  • General understanding of truck components

  • General understanding of hydraulic systems; open and closed center; knowledge of laws relating to hydraulic flow, pressure, installation of components, adjustments, testing, etc.

  • General mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision

  • Ability to use hand tools

  • Follow all company safety rules and policies and operate equipment in a safe manner

  • Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions, diagrams schematics, and prints

  • Ability to effectively perform job functions with input from manager and customers

  • Great attitude and ability to work with others

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal

  • Knowledge of computers and various software programs is desirable

  • Knowledge of on-board truck computer controls; including electrical multiplexing and CAN Bus systems is desirable



Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Current regular driver\'s license to move our vehicles

  • Forklift operator certification

  • Overhead crane operator certification

  • Knowledge of computers and various software programs is desirable

Requirements

  • Must have a current drivers license to move our vehicles.

  • Must be able to work 7am-5pm shifts Monday through Friday and 7am-11am shifts two Saturdays a month.
