Job summary

St-Vincent De Paul Society of Los Angeles is seeking a Safety/Driver Helper to support truck operations, assist with vehicle inspections, and help with loading and unloading donated goods. The role emphasizes customer service for donors and adherence to safety procedures.

Ideal candidates are team players who communicate well, maintain professionalism on shift, and follow instructions from drivers and management. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

• Assist driver to inspect vehicle before trips.
• Support radio communication while vehicle is in motion.
• Help load/unload donated goods safely and efficiently.
• Remain alert to road hazards, signs, and pedestrians.
• Report accidents and property damage promptly per dispatcher guidance.
• Follow directives from driver, dispatcher, and management.
• Verify and complete pickup tickets with the driver.
• Present a friendly, cooperative attitude to donors and the public.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
