Job summary

Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Long Beach, CA is seeking a dedicated driver helper to support daily truck operations and safety.

You will assist with pre-trip checks, radio communication, loading and unloading donated goods, and maintaining a friendly, cooperative attitude with donors and the driver. This full-time role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, consistent attendance, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist driver to inspect vehicle prior to leaving the facility.
Assist driver with radio communication while vehicle is in motion.
Provide assistance while driver maneuvers truck to park, back up, or other at all times.
Remain focused and alert to road hazards and traffic.
Report property damage and complete accident reports as directed.
Follow directives of driver, dispatcher and management.
Load, secure and unload donated goods safely.
Work cooperatively with driver to prevent injury.
Verify and complete all issued pickup tickets.
Present a friendly, cooperative attitude to donors and public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
