Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) invites applications for an Instructor for Medium/Heavy Truck Technician to lead the high school program and work with students pursuing careers in truck technology.

The role emphasizes adapting instruction to diverse learners, maintaining safety, and collaborating with industry partners; preferred credentials include an associate degree or higher and ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or higher preferred
• Valid Michigan Standard CTE Certificate, Professional CTE Certificate, or eligible for Annual Career Authorization with 4,000+ hours in past 10 years
• ASE Certifications in brakes, steering and suspension, electrical, and preventive maintenance and repair
• Experience: 4,000+ hours of work in field in past 10 years
• Demonstrates teaching strategies for diverse student population
• Communicates effectively in writing and speech

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional program for high school students pursuing medium/heavy truck technician careers
• Implement activities and assess student progress
• Meet the unique needs of students and prepare them for careers in the field
