West Georgia Technical College in Georgia is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor for Commercial Truck Driving MT&T. The role pays $27.00 per contact hour, with adjunct positions offered per semester and no benefits.

Courses are face-to-face unless noted, with morning or evening hours Monday through Thursday. Candidates must hold a Certificate in CTD and a CDL Class A, plus relevant experience; compliance with state standards is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving from an accredited institution.
• Current CDL Class A Driver’s License.
• Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of unrestricted Class A experience.
• Clean Official MVR for the past seven (7) years.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Accredited CTD program training and 10+ years of unrestricted Class A experience.
• Directly related teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
• Online teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Commercial Truck Driving.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Commercial Truck Driving.
• Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
• Instructs face-to-face, blended, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.
• Prepare standardized course syllabi using the provided template.
• Assesses student progress based on established course grading requirements; grades all coursework in a timely manner.
• Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab.
• Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student instructional programs and other issues.
• Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
• May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom course delivery.
• Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.
