Job summary

R.B. Hinkle Construction Inc is seeking a Truck Driver/Operator to safely operate dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks, and other equipment on utility and construction sites. You will transport materials, load/unload, and perform daily inspections while maintaining DOT compliance and accurate logs.

The role requires a valid license (CDL typically preferred), the ability to pass drug/alcohol screening, and strong attention to safety and teamwork in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) preferred or required depending on assignment.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
  • Ability to meet company driving standards and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks, and other assigned vehicles.
  • Transport materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials in accordance with DOT and company standards.
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Operate construction equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, rollers, and more.
  • Assist crews with utility, excavation, grading, trenching, restoration, and general construction activities.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Identify and report vehicle, equipment, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Maintain logs, inspection reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Follow safety policies and participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and fellow crew members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
