R.B. Hinkle is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and related machinery on construction projects in Maryland.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, enforce PPE and safety policies, and work with a team to meet project goals. CDL may be required for certain equipment; you may assist with manual tasks when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required.
• Ability to operate diverse heavy equipment safely.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans is a plus.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (exca-vators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes) safely and proficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, check fluid levels, tires, lights and report defects.
• Load/unload materials, excavate trenches, grade surfaces as directed by supervisor.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and communicate with team on site.
• Assist with manual labor when equipment operation is not required.
• Follow project plans, specifications and safety guidelines; troubleshoot minor issues.
