Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a Commercial Vehicle (CMV) in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations, as well as all local, state, and federal requirements
- Maintain a current driver's license and medical card as required by DOT
- Maintain a clean driving record supported by Annual MVR Report
- Interact professionally with team members, leadership, customers, and law enforcement agencies
- Order picking, staging products, loading/unloading, and securing cargo safely
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, inspection forms, and other required documentation
- Assist in unloading the truck and putting away equipment upon return to the DC when applicable
- Collaborate with team leadership before and after trips
- Keep the vehicle clean and report maintenance issues timely
- Comply with all regulatory and company policies
- Operate within Hours-of-Service (HOS) limits using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
- Perform pre- and post-trip equipment inspections
- Audit vehicle registration, permits, insurance, IFTA, and other documents regularly
- Operate within legal vehicle weight limits
- Wear appropriate personal protective gear as required
- Follow traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety procedures
- Report defects, accidents, or violations according to regulations and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- At least 1 year of verifiable CMV operation experience on public roads within the past 3 years
- Prefer candidates meeting FMCSA regulations for interstate commercial driving
- Minimum of 6 months experience in cargo securement practices
- Valid Class C driver's license or appropriate license classification as per DOT vehicle weight
- Only one valid driver's license issued by the applicant's state of residence, with license transfer completed within 30 days if issued elsewhere
- Valid and current DOT Medical Card
- Ability to pass a road test
- Willingness to stay overnight when required
- Proficiency in English for communication, reading signs, and completing reports
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods
- Work in varying weather conditions
