Job summary

Gulf Stream Marine, Inc. in Houston is seeking a yard truck operator to move cargo within the terminal, perform loading and discharging tasks, and ensure cargo is secured for transport.

The position requires a TWIC, heavy hauling experience, and at least three years of mule jockey or tractor trailer driving. Candidates must read, write, and speak English and be able to work flexible hours, including nights, overtime, and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift mechanical inspection of assigned company truck (yard mule) and report any deficiencies.
• Operate yard truck and ensure cargo is properly secure for transport throughout the facility; load/unload break bulk cargo, containers, steel/pipe using standard equipment.
• Couple and uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions and connecting/disconnecting air and electrical lines.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions following signals from loading crew and ensuring proper positioning of vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain logs of loads and submit accurate daily shift activity.
• Keep a clean work area free of debris and hazards and be aware of surroundings at all times.
• Perform other duties such as general labor as assigned.
