Clayton County Transportation and Development seeks a Truck Driver I to operate dump trucks and support maintenance projects. You’ll load, transport, and unload materials to sites, with daily safety pre-trip inspections and on-site traffic flagging.
A valid Georgia CDL-B is required, plus 2 years’ experience preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Georgia, offering growth within the transportation team.
TRUCK DRIVER I
The purpose of this classification is to drive and operate various size trucks to move materials and equipment as necessary to perform work on Transportation and Development maintenance and construction projects. Work requires a moderate level of skill, dexterity, and finesse and involves performing to exacting tolerances and specifications. Work is performed under the supervision of a foreman or supervisor who monitors and inspects work while in progress and upon completion.
Tasks require the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, or traffic hazards.
