Position Overview

Title: Truck Driver I

Reports to:

Direct Reports:

Overview

This position is responsible for driving a company truck, such as a lugger truck, roll-off truck and tractor trailer, and switching trailers or containers at customer account locations. Also responsible for other driving assignments as directed by Dispatch. Actively participates and displays behaviors of the company values. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Accountabilities

1. Service customer locations and always maintain good customer relations.
2. Provide outstanding customer service as a service representative for the company.
3. Prepare shipping documents for all loads, weigh all loads and perform initial material inspections.
4. Maintain paperwork for scale tickets, shippers, logbooks and trip reports.
5. Complete and submit necessary reports, such as accident damage and traffic violation reports.
6. Perform daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection.
7. Submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required.
8. Inspect loads and tarp/secure loads when necessary.
9. Maintain inside of truck.
10. Data entry for vendor codes and trip reports.
11. Other duties as necessary.
12. Daily vehicle inspection reports.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma.
2. CDL Class A license required and a clear driving record.
3. Lift up to 75 lbs while chaining.
4. Legible handwriting and strong mathematical skills.
5. Ability to work independently and be detail-oriented.
6. Ability to maintain logbooks.
7. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment.
