Job summary

Cianbro Equipment, based in Pittsfield, Maine, is seeking an experienced CDL driver to safely transport construction materials and heavy equipment. You will load, secure, and inspect loads, maintain logs, and ensure regulatory compliance on every trip.

The position requires 5+ years of hauling experience, familiarity with overweight/oversized loads, and strong communication with dispatch and customers. Travel may include 3–4 nights away from home weekly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
• Minimum 5 years hauling flatbeds and construction materials.
• Experience transporting overweight/oversized loads.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and ELDs.
• Ability to operate a front-end loader.

Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely transport construction materials and heavy equipment in compliance with company policies and all DOT regulations.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials and equipment.
• Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, hours-of-service records, and equipment inspection reports.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and transported safely.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and company personnel.
• Travel as required, including up to 3 to 4 nights per week away from home. Weekends are not typically required.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience hauling flatbeds, construction materials, and mixed freight.
• Experience transporting overweight and oversized loads required.
• Experience hauling equipment on lowboy/low-bed trailers preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Ability to safely operate a front-end loader and familiarity with aerial lifts, excavators, dozers, rollers, and forklifts.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical duties associated with loading, securing, and inspecting equipment.
