- Pay starts at $27 an hour with a $7,000 Sign-On BONUS (must meet minimum requirements, will be discussed during the interview)
- Full-time company driver, home daily
- Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Dispatch Time: 3:00 pm
Position Purpose:
The Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products to customers safely and timely, in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Performs as a team member within the department and organization, and performs any duty assigned to serve the company best.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; reporting safety issues or repairs needed.
- Following all DOT regulations and safe driving policies.
- Reporting hazards immediately. Inspecting trailers for proper loading and security.
- Checking items and customer invoices for loaded products, and completing all freight paperwork accurately.
- Moving tractor to the loading dock and attaching preloaded trailer as needed.
- Driving to deliver customer orders per schedule, unloading products, and obtaining signatures. Collecting payments where required.
- Loading customer returns, securing the trailer, and ensuring all equipment and freight are secured.
- Unloading damaged goods and returns, completing necessary paperwork, and removing trash from trailers.
- Maintaining daily hours of service logs as per DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Performing housekeeping duties in tractors and loading areas, keeping trailers clean, and securing equipment at shift end.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- 1+ year of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL-A
- Meet all state licensing/certification requirements
- Clean MVR for past 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and background check
- Pass road test
- Current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing 10-90 pounds using appropriate equipment
