Job summary

Penske in Nitro, WV is seeking a CDL Class A Truck Driver for full-time, home daily routes delivering auto parts across WV and nearby states. You will operate Penske trucks, unload with pallet jacks and liftgates, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL; must be domiciled in the U.S.
• Non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required.
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years.
• DMV/MVR with two or fewer moving violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
• English language proficiency required.
• Able to work the scheduled five-day week and pass background/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-stop deliveries of auto parts to retail stores.
• Support different routes and assignments based on business needs.
• Deliver primarily throughout WV, with some stores in VA, OH, KY.
• Unload trailer using pallet jacks, hand carts, and totes; complete liftgate deliveries.

What you will do:

• Perform multi-stop deliveries of auto parts and supplies to retail stores
• Support different routes and assignments based on business needs
• Deliver primarily throughout WV, with some stores in VA, OH, and KY
• Unload trailer using manual pallet jacks, hand carts, and totes
• Complete liftgate deliveries
• Be available on call when not needed for driving
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers

Schedule:

• Monday through Saturday
• 5-day work week
• Typical dispatch time is 8:30 PM, with slight variations depending on the warehouse
• Typical schedule is 8:30 PM to 5 AM

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
