Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Odessa, TX is hiring CDL-A truck drivers to transport heavy equipment across local oil and gas facilities. You will plan routes, inspect vehicles, and maintain logbooks while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience, are able to work 60–70 hours weekly, and possess heavy haul know‑how. You will be continually adapting to road conditions and following Saulsbury’s procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Hands-on experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading.
• Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs weekly), mostly locally.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations.

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

• Document and log work/rest periods and miles; retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations and company policies.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, and violations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Truck Drivers – CDL - DOT

General Information/Job Summary

The DOT Truck Drivers will transport heavy equipment (forklifts, boom lifts, dozers, blades, and excavators) to and from locations, in and around major areas of oil and gas industry facilities.

Responsibilities/Competencies

• Transport equipment or material to customer locations using a variety of different trailers. (Floats, step decks, lowboys, van trailer, etc.).
• Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Maintaining paperwork is a must.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as Saulsbury’s policies and procedures.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, and violations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Hands on experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading. procedures.
• Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs. weekly), the majority of driving is performed locally.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
• Valid Class A CDL license.
• Heavy haul experience is preferred.
• 4 years of experience.
• Must meet all DOT requirements.

• Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
• Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
• Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
• Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
• Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.
