Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Truck Driver - CDL Class A to operate a tractor trailer, load and unload, and maintain logs per regulations. The role involves daily local deliveries to customer locations and documentation.

Shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A strong safety record and ability to work in a team are required, with forklift certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a Class A CDL license

Job description

As a Truck Driver - CDL Class A, you will operate a tractor trailer that transports cargo daily to and from local customer locations. You will prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. You will load, secure and unload cargo, and maintain a log of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.

Shift : Monday through Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Prepares daily delivery schedule.

• Selects and loads materials, verifying loads for accuracy, on the truck for delivery.

• Delivers materials at locations designated by customer.

• Assists with unloading and obtains customer’s signature for proof of delivery.

• Maintains contact with dispatcher to receive instructions about scheduled delivery or pick up.

• Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor trailer and maintains logs of vehicles condition and repair needs.

• May perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries.

• Performs functions necessary to keep warehouse neat and orderly.

Working Environment: Driver – Work is generally performed in moving vehicle. Driving required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts. Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Expectations:

• Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds

• Work may require excessive bending or stooping

• Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job

• Employee required to climb ladders

• Employee required to use hand tools
