Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in University Park, IL is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our Midwest regional fleet. This role offers weekly pay, paid training, and a strong benefits package. You’ll operate well‑maintained tractors and support safe, on‑time freight delivery.

Typical weekly earnings start around $1,850 with additional pay for miles, stops, and per diem. Schedule is Monday to Friday with early start, and Ryder provides 24/7 roadside support and modern equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a valid Class A CDL with endorsements.
• 6 months to 5 years' experience in tractor trailer driving.
• Ability to pass Ryder drug test, background check, and DOT requirements.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply laws, rules, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading when required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.68 per Mile with 1800 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$24.48 per Stop with 26 Stops per Week
• Per Diem Pay: $26.52 per night with 2 nights per Week
• Sign On Bonus: $4000 - Pays $500 at 30 days and $500 at 90 days
• Loyalty Bonus: $4000 - Pays $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year
• Delay Pay
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or in Sleeper Truck
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Start Time: 2:00 AM - 7:00 AM dispatch

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
