Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for University Park, IL. The position offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a route that covers the Midwest region.

Responsibilities include safe operation of tractors/trailers, maintaining logs, and complying with company and DOT regulations. Training is provided, with a Monday–Friday schedule and start times around early morning dispatch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements.
• Pass Ryder drug test and motor vehicle record check.
• Pass DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• 6–10 years driving experience? (as indicated by requirements)

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and company standards.
• Maintain accurate logs and records.
• Load/unload freight as needed per customer instruction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.68 per Mile with 1800 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$24.48 per Stop with 26 Stops per Week
• Per Diem Pay: $26.52 per night with 2 nights per Week
• Sign On Bonus: $4000 - Pays $2000 at 30 days and $2000 at 90 days
• Loyalty Bonus: $4000 - Pays $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year
• Delay Pay
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or in Sleeper Truck
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: 2:00 AM - 7:00 AM dispatch

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
