Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Mt. Sterling, OH to join a dedicated driving team.

You will earn a weekly guarantee, enjoy benefits after 30 days, and receive per diem pay with overtime after 40 hours. Training is provided and routes cover the Eastern US with home time varying by assignment. The role requires a valid CDL A, 9 months to 5+ years of recent dry van experience, and ability to pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements as required.
• Minimum 9 months of dry van experience in the past 3 years OR 2 years in past 5 years OR 5 years in past 10 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a background check.
• Must pass Ryder drug test and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and company policies.
• Load/unload freight as required by the customer.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of driving activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Ryder.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $25.50 Per Hour
• Overtime Paid After 40 Hours
• Hours Per Week: 40 + hours per week
• Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel
• Loyalty Bonus:Pays You $1000 at 6 months and $1000 at 1 year

• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: Around 6:00 AM

• Deliver SOLOTo: FL and Locations Throughout the Eastern US. Away from home up to 85% of the time
• Tractor Type: Mixture of Sleeper Tractors with 53ft Trailers & 26' Straight Trucks

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
