Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Columbus, OH to join our safety‑driven team. This role emphasizes weekly pay, full benefits after 30 days, and a path toward a long‑term driving career.

You will drive regional routes to IN, OH, MI, TN & KY, with 40+ hours weekly, paid training, and a $29.00 per hour base. Additional earnings come from endorsements, per diem, and a tenure bonus.

• Must read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to compliant driving.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and Ryder standards.
• Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting as required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $29.00 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 40 + hours per week
• Earn extra $1/hour for every 3 endorsements/certifications
• Per Diem Pay: $50 per night
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or Sleeper
• Tenure Bonus:Pays You $1000 Each Year

• Tractor Type: Day Cabs and Sleepers - Possibility of 26' Straight Truck
• TrailerType:48' - 53' Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Reefers, Conestogas, Curtainsides and Container
• Equipment: pallet jack, lift gate, rollers or Moffett preferred
• Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
• Freight:Mix or Touch and No Touch
• 1 year of flatbed experience preferred
• Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples Endorsements preferred
• Experience with strapping, chaining & tarping preferred

Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
