Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Detroit, MI with weekly pay and strong benefits. You will drive local/Regional routes, connect hoses, pressurize trailers, and train on equipment.

Hazmat endorsement is preferred and Ryder assists with obtaining it; you may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Expect 3 nights out weekly max, with a local home-daily/Regional schedule, and a Passport or Enhanced DL may be required for Canada entry.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Passport or Enhanced DL to possibly enter Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Start Time: 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM
• Sign on Bonus: Pays you $2000 at 30 days, $2000 at 90 days
• Retention Bonus:Pays You $2000 at 6 months
• Safety Bonus:Pays You $1500 at 3 months, $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 9 months

• Deliver SOLOTo:OH, MI, IN, PA, WV, MS, AL, GA, IL, TN, AR, SC, NC, MN, Upstate NY.
• Route: Local Home Daily and Regional with up to 3 nights out per week
• Freight: Touch – Driver will connect hoses and pressurize trailer w/assistance
• Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
• Endorsements: Tanker REQUIRED,Hazmat preferred - Ryder will train and help you obtain Hazmat;Must have 6 months to 1 year of Tanker experience.
• Must have PASSPORT or ENHANCED DL to possibly enter Canada
• FAST Pass preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
