Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Detroit, MI. Local home daily and regional routes with weekly pay, paid training, and a generous sign-on bonus. Earn bonuses at 30, 90 days, 6 months, and safety milestones while delivering with a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 6–10 years of experience window options are acceptable per Ryder requirements.
• 9 months past 3 years OR 2 years past 5 years OR 5 years past 10 years of experience.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred; tanker endorsement required and training provided.
• Passport or enhanced DL may be required for Canada entries.
• DOT physical, drug test, and background checks are required.
• Minimum age 21; ability to read/interpret instructions and rules.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal/state laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Detecting and minimizing safety hazards and maintaining logs/records.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting with setup as required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM
• Sign on Bonus: Pays you $2000 at 30 days, $2000 at 90 days
• Retention Bonus: Pays You $2000 at 6 months
• Safety Bonus: Pays You $1500 at 3 months, $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 9 months

• Deliver SOLOTo:OH, MI, IN, PA, WV, MS, AL, GA, IL, TN, AR, SC, NC, MN, Upstate NY.
• Route: Local Home Daily and Regional with up to 3 nights out per week
• Tractor Type: Straight Tanker/Sleeper Cab
• TrailerType:Liquid Tanker Trailer28' & 48'
• Freight: Touch - Driver will connect hoses and pressurize trailer w/assistance
• Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
• Endorsements: Tanker REQUIRED,Hazmat preferred - Ryder will train and help you obtain Hazmat;Must have 6 months to 1 year of Tanker experience.
• Must have PASSPORT or ENHANCED DL to possibly enter Canada
• FAST Pass preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
