Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to operate in Mount Airy, NC. The role offers weekly pay, strong benefits, and a path to a rewarding driving career.

You will drive regionally on the East Coast and as far as Texas, with pay for miles, stops, and per diem. PTO starts on day one, uniforms and boot allowances, 401(k) with match, and maternity leave options are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and able to pass a drug test.
• Provide valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Pass background, motor vehicle checks and DOT physical.
• Possess ability to follow written and oral instructions and read laws/policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and manage safety hazards; maintain records/logs.
• Load/unload freight as required by customer and assist if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.67 per Mile with 2400 miles per week
• Solo Stops Pay:$28.75 per Stop with 5 - 8 stops per week
• Per Diem Pay: $40.00 per night with 5 nights out per week
• Schedule: Monday - Friday or Sunday - Thursday
• Start Time: Varies

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
