Job summary

Ryder in Columbus, OH is seeking a part-time Transfer Driver to shuttle equipment between Ryder facilities. This role offers local home daily time with a 30–35 hour workweek and a $22.00 per hour wage plus weekly pay of $660.

A sign-on bonus is paid at milestones, and all drivers receive 24/7 roadside support and nationwide maintenance coverage. Responsibilities include safe operation of a tractor-trailer, meeting DOT requirements, and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL and endorsements as required.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• DOT compliance and safety training.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle and comply with safety & DOT regulations.
• Perform shuttle transfers between Ryder Customer Facilities.
• Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
• Provide reliable, on-time delivery and courteous customer service.

Your probably wondering what your paycheck will look like…

• Weekly Pay $660 per week
• Hourly Pay: $22.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule: Between Monday - Friday
• Part Time: 30 - 35 hrs weekly
• Start Time: 8:00 AM
• Sign On Bonus: Pays $250 at 30 and 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
