Job summary

Thomas Enterprises of Greensboro, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a commercial motor vehicle driver to transport non-hazardous materials to designated sites, while performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and completing all driver paperwork.

You will secure cargo, comply with DOT regulations, operate ELD devices, and maintain forklift certification as required; occasional lifting of 30–50 lbs and travel to support trade shows.

Qualifications

• Must meet DOT physicals and drug testing requirements.
• Experience performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Knowledge of cargo securing and safe loading procedures.
• Proficiency with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
• Forklift certification and operation experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Operate CMV to transport non-hazardous materials to designated sites/locations and successfully completes customer requests in a timely manner
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; complete all required driver paperwork accurately and according to company policies and procedures; communicates any problems/concerns regarding company vehicles to immediate supervisor(s)
• Practice driver safety at all times on and off-duty; secures cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or other designated and/or required equipment; load/unload cargo if required or as needed; occasionally lift 30 lbs. - 50 lbs.
• Adhere to all DOT requirements including DOT physicals, drug testing, etc.
• Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) must be used while operating CMVs and other company vehicles
• Operate a yard truck with a flatbed and/or van trailer; operate a fork-lift and maintain certification
• Performs other related work as required
• Supports trade show management activities such as assist on-site at trade shows and conventions with set up and dismantle; delivery and pick up as needed
