Job summary

CMC is seeking a dedicated delivery driver in Akron, Ohio. Responsibilities include completing delivery paperwork, conducting equipment inspections, and delivering products within the region, while following all safety regulations.

Ideal candidates must possess a valid Class A CDL, be at least 21 years old, and have at least one year of verified tractor-trailer experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to lift up to 65 lbs are also required. Benefits include competitive compensation and a 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers
• Conduct daily pre‑trip, inter‑trip, and post‑trip inspections of truck and cargo
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region
• Follow all safety rules and always wear required PPE
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Operate vehicles using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and safety dashcams (training provided)
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, use of sideboard kits and safely ascending/descending of truck and/or trailer
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per federal and state safety regulations
• Work flexible hours and be available based on business needs

What You'll Need

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years
• At least 1 year of verified tractor‑trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred)
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs/ladders, working with chains/strap, performing inspections

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
