Qualifications

  • Three years of commercial driving experience preferred; ability to load/unload heavy machinery.
  • Familiarity with securing loads per DOT regulations and safe operating procedures.
  • Must be able to perform physical labor and operate manual transmission when required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. has immediate job opening for a reliable class "A" commercial driver with safe driving records. The Class A Commercial Driver is responsible for operating a lowboy semi-tractor/trailer to load, transport, and unload heavy equipment—including Caterpillar and other machinery—between ranch sites. This position requires hands‑on loading/unloading, physical labor, and occasional operation of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is punctual, hardworking, and committed to maintaining safe driving and work practices. This position reports to Production Manager. The work location for this position is in Oxnard, CA.


Essential Job Responsibilities


  • Safely operate a lowboy semi-tractor/trailer to transport heavy equipment and materials between ranch and job sites.

  • Load and unload heavy machinery such as Caterpillars and other construction/agriculture equipment.

  • Ensure equipment is secured properly for transport in compliance with DOT and company safety standards.

  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; maintain accurate vehicle inspection logs.

  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.

  • Operate heavy equipment for loading/unloading or site work when required.

  • Maintain clean and organized trucks and equipment.

  • Comply with all local, state (California), and federal DOT regulations.

  • Follow all safety work practices by following safety rules and regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate logistics.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Must use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Must be able to work without directions and stay productive.

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Must be able to work weekends.

  • Must be able to work overtime when requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience and Qualification


  • Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with clean driving record, issued by the state of California with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.

  • Safe Driving Records

  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements.

  • Must have current medical examiner’s certificate (DOT Card)

  • Familiarity with securing loads, tie‑down procedures, and DOT regulations.

  • Must be knowledgeable of DOT guidelines.

  • Tank endorsement a plus

  • Experience operating heavy equipment (bulldozers, loaders, tractors, etc.) is highly preferred.

  • Ability to safely load and unload heavy machinery.

  • Must have strong commitment to safety practices.

  • Must consent to a Pre‑employment Drug Test, Background screen, DMV Pull (current), and background check.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Ability to operate manual transmission; may be required for specific equipment/trucks.

  • Three (3) years of commercial driving experience

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 75 lbs. and working in outdoor environments.

  • Work is mainly outdoors in farm fields, typically over un‑even terrain, exposed to outdoor elements.

  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Strong commitment to safety practices.
