Truck Driver, Class A (CDL A)

Location: Warehouse – Chattanooga, TN 37407
Position Type: Full‑time
Pay Range: $20.00 – $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and timely delivery of donated goods, equipment, and other merchandise between ADC sites, stores, and the Distribution Center, with flexibility to other locations as needed.
  • Operate semi‑trucks and box trucks in compliance with FMCSA, NHTSA, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, promptly report issues, and maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, and paperwork.
  • Keep vehicle interior and exterior clean; prohibit food, drink, tobacco, or personal electronics while driving.
  • Follow all traffic laws, company driving policies, and never deviate from assigned routes or use vehicles for personal reasons.
  • Load and unload merchandise and donations safely using proper lifting techniques, equipment, and secure placement to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
  • Follow safety procedures, including PPE and hazardous material protocols, and comply with FMCSA, NHTSA, and local codes.
  • Report accidents, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and paperwork daily.
  • Report on time daily and follow assigned schedules.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and work flexible hours based on business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Pass DOT physical and maintain a good Motor Vehicle Report.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of professional driving experience as a DOT‑certified driver preferred.
  • Must meet all FMCSA Parts 383 and 391 qualification standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of DOT, OSHA, TOSHA, NHTSA regulations and local codes.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA rules on safe driving, hours of service, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to install or remove equipment such as tire chains.
  • Knowledge of company policies, safety protocols, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities; able to set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Capable of working independently without constant supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Physically capable of pushing or pulling loads over 50 pounds regularly.
  • Dependable, conscientious, and safety‑focused.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work based on the organization’s needs.
