Job summary

The Salvation Army in Wilson, NC is seeking a dedicated Store Driver to operate a heavy truck for donations pickup and merchandise delivery. This role requires safe driving, adherence to regulations, and occasional warehouse work when routes are not scheduled.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading donations, lifting furniture and appliances, and assisting at the family store as needed. Valid license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• One year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver's License.

• Drive Salvation Army truck on scheduled routes for pickups and deliveries.
• Operate the vehicle in compliance with Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations.

Drives Salvation Army Truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and/or deliver merchandise to customers; operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work in the family store and warehouse wherever needed when Donation Pickups are not scheduled. This includes hanging, sorting, pricing clothing and household items, etc.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, and
• One (1) year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, or Box Truck
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver's License
