Job summary

Carter Machinery, Inc. is hiring a Truck Driver to transport and deliver products to company facilities and customer sites on established routes. You will operate a tractor-trailer and maintain safety compliance, while communicating professionally with customers and team members.

The role requires a CDL A, a clean driving record, and the ability to meet deadlines. Overtime and forklift operation may be required in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• CDL A licensure with proven tractor/trailer driving experience.
• Must have an excellent driving record
• Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations and ability to conduct pre/post/periodic trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment is in good working order
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to load, unload, and secure cargo for transport
• Must be able to meet delivery deadlines
• Must be able to work overtime additional hours as needed to meet customer demand
• Must be able to operate a forklift

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver products to Carter Machinery facilities and customer locations over established routes.
• Maintain safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Complete accurate delivery paperwork and communicate with customers professionally.
• Adhere to DOT regulations, company safety standards, and route schedules.
• Assist with warehouse tasks as needed and report any issues.

Job Title: Truck Driver

Location: Oakwood

Shift: 3rd

Starting Compensation Range: $22.23- $31.28 per hour + Shift Differential

The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering products to Carter Machinery facilities and customer locations over established routes.

Requirements for the Truck Driver position include:

• CDL A licensure with proven tractor/trailer driving experience

Seeking Candidates with:

• Minimum four years’ experience driving a tractor trailer
• Valid CDL A licensure required; HAZMAT preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous warehouse experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently sitting for extended periods of time
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 70 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
