POSITION SUMMARY

Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Deliver and pick up equipment as needed for rental, service, used equipment, and new sales departments.
  • Obey all traffic and safety rules according to DOT regulations.
  • Prepares receipts for load picked up.
  • Maintains truck log, according to State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone contact with supervisor and/or customers to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck in a safe manner according to DOT regulations.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water and reports any needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • Positions blocks and ties straps/chains around items to secure cargo during transit according to DOT regulations.
  • Turn in accurate paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Must keep the delivery truck clean at all times (inside and out).
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates & Licenses: Must have and maintain a valid class A CDL license. Must have and maintain a good driving record for insurance purposes.
