Job summary

Salvation Army is seeking a reliable driver to operate a heavy-duty truck or large van, delivering goods to stores and customers within Oklahoma City. You will perform pickups, loadages, and maintain vehicle security. Daily inspections and adherence to state and federal rules are required.

The role requires basic high school education, a valid driver's license, and a DOT medical card; CDL is preferred but not required. Fluency in English to communicate with the public is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van or equivalent training/experience.
• Valid State Driver's License and DOT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle within state/federal statutes and guidelines.
• Deliver merchandise to stores and customers; perform special pickups.
• Load deliveries in organized manner and secure vehicle and equipment.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections (oil, water, tires, etc.).
• Read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public.

Job description

Responsible for being knowledgeable of the geographical area assigned and operates the vehicle within state/federal statutes and/or guidelines. Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public. Deliver merchandise to stores and deliver sold merchandise to customers. Perform special pickups and deliveries, pick up vehicles at the garage, and other similar activities. Clean and secure the vehicle and equipment; conduct daily inspections of the vehicle's oil, water, tires, and other items of the vehicle to maintain good operating condition. Load store deliveries and sold merchandise on trucks in the most organized manner.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not required and one year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Licenses and CertificationsValid State Driver's LicenseValid DOT Medical CardValid Commercial Driver's License, desired but not required.
