Job summary

LCSWMA is seeking a Full Time FIRST SHIFT Truck Driver to operate Authority vehicles to transfer waste between facilities in a safe and courteous manner. Drivers are home every night and work Monday through Friday with rotation Saturdays, serving Lancaster and Dauphin County.

The role includes a robust benefits package including PTO starting on Day 1. A Class A or B license is required, along with a high school diploma and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
• Valid Class A or Class B Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Able to obtain and maintain DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Class A motor vehicles.
• Maintain knowledge of LCSWMA Rules and Regulations and waste disposal.
• Check assigned equipment daily for proper maintenance and complete Daily Maintenance Reports.
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, and according to applicable laws.
• Obey all Authority rules, regulations, and safety programs.
• Change tires, as necessary.
• Be available to assist in other capacities as directed by the Transfer Station Site Supervisor and/or Transportation & Logistics Manager.

Job Summary

Operates Authority vehicles (Truck Tractors, Dump, Roll-off, and other trucks) to transfer waste between LCSWMA facilities and assigned destinations in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Check assigned equipment daily for proper maintenance and complete Daily Maintenance Reports.

• Be available to assist in other capacities: as qualified and assigned, to maintain the facility operation as directed by the Transfer Station Site Supervisor and/or Transportation & Logistics Manager.

Requirements

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• This position is categorized as a Safety Sensitive Position and as such, employees are required to follow all related safety policies & procedures.
• Employees in this position generally work in an enclosed climate-controlled environment with periodic exposure to inclement outdoor conditions, and exposure to high levels of dust and strong trash odors.
• Sit for extended periods of time.
• Frequently bend, reach, push and pull to safely and efficiently operate trailer doors, clean debris from trailer beds and door seals, and climb ladder for tarping and untarping.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and carry for a distance of 50 feet.
• Handle 150lb. tires unassisted.
