Job summary

Croell, Inc. in Sundance, WY seeks a Heavy Haul Truck Driver to haul asphalt equipment and support large aggregate movements across the region.

You will complete pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain trucks in top condition, and follow DOT safety standards while delivering dependable service to projects. This full-time role offers overtime, a team-oriented environment, and opportunities to learn multiple heavy equipment tasks.

Qualifications

• Consent to pre-employment screening, MVR check, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Perform maintenance on trucks and equipment as required.
• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and assist with repairs.
• Operate additional yard/heavy equipment to move parts and materials.
• Document maintenance issues in the truck logbook and inform supervisor.
• Set up and tear down job sites when moving mining locations.
• Enforce company safety standards at all times.
• Assist with machine maintenance and repairs.
• Unblock conveyors, replace screens, grease moving parts.
• Be a team player and cross-train where needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

The heavy haul truck driver's primary responsibility is hauling asphalt equipment to various jobsites throughout our region during the asphalt paving season. Between asphalt moves and after asphalt paving season this person will assist the other heavy haul operations in moving large aggregate equipment throughout the region. During any slow times between equipment moving, this person can haul rock and sand, and operate other equipment as needed. Experience short-haul delivery, be home every night, and be an integral part of exciting projects. Take ownership of your role by completing pre-and-post trip inspections, keep assigned truck and trailer in good working order, following company safety standards, follow all DOT regulations, maintain courteous customer relations, and working with a team that feels like family. Preferred position will be based out of Douglas, WY, consideration for other locations can be made depending on applicant's qualifications and skill set.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Perform maintenance on assigned trucks and other equipment as required.
• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as needed.
• Operate other yards/heavy equipment to move parts and materials if needed (i.e., loaders, trucks, etc.).
• Must record any maintenance issues in the truck logbook and ensure the supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns.
• Set up and tear down job sites when moving mining locations (i.e., running cables, hoses, setting up blocks, tarping, shoveling aggregate, etc.).
• Follow, enforce, and promote company safety standards at all times.
• Assist with machine maintenance and repairs.
• Unplug and shovel off conveyors/screens, change out screens, rollers, and cone liners, repair conveyor problems, and grease moving machine parts.
• Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train.
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Requirements

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
• Class A CDL and current Medical DOT card.
• 1-3 years of equipment hauling experience.
• Mechanical background and skills.
• Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.
• Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
• A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
• Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
• Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
