Job summary

Hood River Distillers, Inc. seeks an experienced CDL truck driver with a backup forklift role. The driver will perform pre-trip inspections, read bills of lading, and deliver products between Hood River locations and regional destinations.

A HazMat license within 6 months is required, with DOT screenings and a pre-employment physical. The role involves non overnight local/OTR duties, union representation, and an excellent benefits package including holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with 3 years of driving experience.

• Knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking to hire an experienced, reliable CDL truck driver/back up forklift operator. Must possess a Class A CDL, have 3 years' experience, with winter Gorge driving a plus, and the ability to obtain a hazardous materials license within 6 months. Daily driving between Hood River locations, OTR includes Portland, Bend and Seattle destinations as needed (no overnights). Pre-employment physical, DOT UA, and background screenings are required. DOT application forms will be provided if chosen for an interview. This position is part of a Union represented workforce with bargained wages and benefits. SUMMARY

Primary truck driver for Hood River Distillers, Inc., with a secondary function of backup forklift driver performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
• Reads and understands bill of lading to determine assignment.
• Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.
• Coordinates regular service of the truck with the leasing company
• Obtains customer's signature or collects payment for services.
• Gives directions to helper in packing and moving goods to trailer.
• Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products or materials.
• Maintains knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of Federal laws and requirements pertaining to commercial driving and commercial carriers.
• Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
• Load and unload trucks when necessary.
• Responsible to know and follow HRD’s written quality guidelines.
• Responsible for following safety guidelines at all times.
• Responsible for keeping the warehouse and shipping area clean and tidy to ensure a safe work environment.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all paperwork.
• Records accurate and timely driver logs.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
• Understands and complies with all Company rules, policies, and regulations.
