Job summary

Leggett & Platt is hiring through Simple Staffing for a CDL-A delivery role in Texas. You will ensure product delivery accuracy, assist with unloading, and maintain strong customer relations while adhering to safety and DOT regulations.

The driver will manage logs, backhauls, and fuel at terminals, handle COD processes when required, and keep equipment clean and maintained. Daily reports and cross-department communication are expected to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented and able to make decisions.
• Must have a Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of products delivered.
• Assist customer in off-loading the product.
• Exceed customer expectations and maintain strong customer relations.
• Handle all money/C.O.D. transactions as required.
• Maintain logbook, maximize backhauls, and fuel at terminals.
• Adhere to safety, EEOC, and OSHA policies.
• Ensure loads are secure and trailer/tractor cleanliness.
• Comply with Leggett & Platt and DOT regulations.
• Prepare daily reports on incoming/outgoing materials.
• Maintain inter-department communication and follow directives.

Primary Duties

Upon delivery, ensure the accuracy of products delivered.

• Assist customer in the off load of the product.
• Exceed customer expectations.
• Maintain excellent customer service and customer relations.
• Responsible for all money/C.O.D.’s involved in business transactions, as required.
• Maintain “Logbook”, maximize “backhauls”, and fuel-up at specified terminals.
• Adhere to safety, EEOC and OSHA policies.
• Ensure loads are secure.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor and trailer.
• Comply with Leggett & Platt and State and Federal DOT regulations.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Traffic Manager.
• Contacts Traffic Manager or Dispatcher on a daily basis.
• Prepares daily reports on the quality/quantity of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain effective inter-department communication.
• Adhere to the Leggett & Platt safety, environmental and conduct Policies.
• Has the authority to perform the following:
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities related to product, process and/or the system.
• Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system:
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of all tractors and trailers.
• Management may assign other duties not covered in this description.All employees are expected to carry out any reasonable assignment.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

• Detailed oriented with the ability to make decisions.
• Must have a class A CDL.
