Job summary

Wanzek Construction, Inc. seeks a truck driver to transport construction equipment and materials between job sites in Texas. You will load and unload, secure loads, perform routine maintenance, and ensure load safety and compliance with regulations. Daily truck inspections and permit handling are required.

The role emphasizes safety, communication with the office and site teams, and maintaining a clean driving record while supporting project timelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year certificate from college or technical school and/or 1–2 years related experience.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment and materials.
  • Secure loads and monitor weight limits.
  • Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Haul counterweights for cranes and transport water, sand, and gravel.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Communicate issues between office, shop, and jobsite.
  • Conduct daily inspection of truck and obtain required permits.
  • Maintain a safe driving record.
  • Handle basic truck maintenance and report major repairs to supervision.

Job description

Overview

Responsible for transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Secure loads, is aware of load limits (weights)
  • Vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Haul counterweights for cranes Haul water, sand and gravel
  • Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Communicate equipment and material issues between the office/shop/jobsite
  • Daily inspection of truck
  • Obtain required permits
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed
  • Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and/or one to two years related experience
  • Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materialsValid Class A Commercial Drivers License
