Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver in Floydada, TX. The role involves transporting construction equipment and materials between jobsites, loading/unloading, securing loads, and performing basic vehicle maintenance.

A valid Class A CDL is required, with 1–2 years of related experience preferred. Candidates must adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record. Excellent communication across office, shop, and field teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year certificate from college or technical school and/or 1–2 years related experience.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License.
  • Commitment to safety and Zero Injury principles.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Strong math skills for measurements and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment and materials.
  • Secure loads and monitor weight limits.
  • Vehicle maintenance and daily truck inspections.
  • Obtain required permits and ensure compliance.
  • Communicate equipment and material issues between office, shop, and jobsite.
  • Keep a safe driving record and follow safety procedures.
  • Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Overview

Responsible for transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Secure loads, is aware of load limits (weights)
  • Vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Haul counterweights for cranes Haul water, sand and gravel
  • Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Communicate equipment and material issues between the office/shop/jobsite
  • Daily inspection of truck
  • Obtain required permits
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed
  • Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and/or one to two years related experience
  • Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materialsValid Class A Commercial Drivers License
