Job summary

The Salvation Army Morgantown, WV is seeking a dependable Truck Driver to support our Morgantown team. This part-time role involves picking up donated goods, delivering merchandise, assisting donors and customers, and helping ensure resources reach those in need.

You will work independently yet be supported by a dedicated team in a mission-driven organization. You will safely transport donations, organize routes, and maintain vehicle safety while delivering furniture and household items to

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience driving a large van, box truck, or heavy-duty truck is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up donated goods from homes, businesses, and community partners.
  • Safely transport donations and merchandise to designated locations.
  • Deliver furniture, appliances, and other items to customers.
  • Load and unload donated items, including furniture and clothing.
  • Organize daily routes to maximize efficiency and service.
  • Assist with warehouse and thrift store operations as needed.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is maintained and fueled.
  • Follow safety procedures and Salvation Army vehicle operation standards.

Team members may encounter heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, and other environmental conditions while serving donors and customers throughout the community.Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.Mobility (as the Warehouse Worker) are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
