Job summary

Carr Supply Columbus is seeking a Local Box Truck Driver to join our team in Columbus, OH. You will operate a 26' box truck, load and deliver materials, and maintain professional relationships with customers on established routes.

You will work with a supportive local team, receive on-the-job training, and enjoy benefits including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, plus a sign-on bonus and PTO. Join a stable, community-centered employer with over a century in Columbus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 75 lbs.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with RF scanners is a plus (on-the-job training provided).

Responsibilities

• Operate 26' box truck and forklift equipment to move materials safely.
• Deliver products to customers following routes and schedules.
• Load, unload, and inspect orders for accuracy.
• Document delivery conditions with photos.
• Maintain customer relations and represent the company professionally.
• Follow safety protocols and handle paperwork accurately.
• Comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.

About the Role

Local Box Truck Driver

Duties

• Operate 26' box truck and warehouse equipment such as forklifts, and order pickers to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Delivers high-quality products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner- following established routes and time schedules.
• Load, unload, and inspect orders to ensure accuracy and prevent damages.
• Take detailed photos to document delivery condition of material.
• Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers. Professionally and courteously represent the company.
• Determines placement of merchandise, follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries.
• Maintains delivery truck and completes paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Adhere to all DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge related to box truck operation is essential.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems for effective inventory tracking is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, and order pickers in a warehouse setting is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of materials handling practices and OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across various departments.
