Job summary

Byer Steel in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to deliver materials and perform pickups as scheduled by the Transportation Manager. The role requires inspecting equipment, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required and valid.
• Minimum two years of Class A driving experience.
• Flatbed experience is required.
• Dump trailer experience preferred.
• Roll-off truck experience preferred.

To deliver material and complete pick-ups for customers by request or scheduled through Transportation Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties

• Pre-inspect equipment, document and notify manager of all findings to ensure safe operation during shift
• Maintain an accurate ELD Log for company and DOT records (Hours, Mileage, Fuel, ect.)
• To make deliveries and pick up material as directed by Transportation Manager
• Inspect and secure loads and check axle weights before leaving to insure safe travel
• Must be available for overnight loads when needed
• Complete all paperwork as needed for company and customers
• Maintain safe driving Practices at all times and keep equipment clean
• Complete a Post Inspection of equipment and notify manager of any defects

Qualifications & Experience

• CDL Class A License - Required
• Must have two years’ experience with Class A license - Required
• Flatbed experience - Required
• Dump trailer experience preferred
• Roll-off truck experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, climb, twist and bend
• Tighten straps/ chain binders
• Crank landing gear
• Climb on trucks/trailers/boxes
• Tarp loads

Environmental Requirements

• PPE required
• Must be trained on spills, clean-up and dispose of spilled material properly
• Must notify manager of any spills for immediate clean-up
