Job summary

CMC is hiring for a home daily, local truck driver position in Spartanburg, SC. A valid Class A CDL is required, and you must be 21 or older. The role involves delivering products to customers, inspecting vehicles, keeping logs, and following DOT rules.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand English in verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • No DUI/DWI within the past five years.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing.
  • No more than one moving violation in the past three years.

Responsibilities

  • Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip, inter-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
  • Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
  • Follow all safety rules and always wear required PPE.
  • Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
  • Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
  • Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Operate vehicles using ELDs and safety dashcams (training provided).
  • Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, use of sideboard kits and safe ascending/descending of truck and/or trailer.
  • Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per federal and state safety regulations.
  • Work flexible hours and be available based on business needs.
